There is only being designated as a national treasure I feel the history I think it is a castle that Inuyama should be proud of?
Beautiful Japanese traditional castle. It is still original, with wood structures dating back to XVII sec. We had an English speaking volunteer guide who told us so many information that we enjoyed the fantastic castle even more! It definitely worth a visit if you are in the Nagoya area. Also the surrounding garden and temple area are very nice.
MoreCassette is under repaired. It’s inside of old town and very close to river, great river view and Mountain View
MoreAmazing place to go to and the history is great!!! Only draw back was that it was under construction. But I will come back when it's finished.
MoreI didn't have the chance to go inside because of waiting line (they control the crowd inside the Castle). But nice place and interesting history! Recommended to all!!!
MoreInuyama castle was breathtakingly beautiful. I would highly recomend taking the path along the river in order to see the castle from afar. The gift shops along the main road from the main Inuyama castle station. Loved walking around the top of the castle and taking in the views.
MorePretty darn impressive! We were provided with an English-speaking tour guide who gave us a lot of interesting historical facts behind the castle. It was beautiful on the outside and very interesting on the inside. However the stairs were very tall and steep and quite challenging for someone even in the best physical condition!
MoreThis is one of the nice castle i have seen.
Small, but shown the interesting part of a real castle. The surrounding add on to the feel too. Recommend visit
MoreIt's tough to climb the stairs. But you will obtain a nice view that can look over the whole Inuyama city
MoreGood for working out (you have to walk a bit from the closest train station), but really worth it. The view from roof top of the castle is also stunning. There are also other tourist attarctions around. and food!
MoreThe castle was under construction when we visited but was still very cool to visit.
MoreExcellent view from top of castle of Inuyama city although stairs to climb the castle are too steep so not recommended for family with elderly and/or infants. Staff is very friendly and kind. Recommended to cover with package tour of little world to get good and cheap package deal. Ample car parking available. We'll maintained and managed. Must see in Aichi ken
MoreThe 360 degree up at the top is so great in the late evening. Especially, the river side.
MoreWonderous from outside, between food stalls and shrines.Nothing much to see inside the walls after the ticket office!PRICE/WOWfactor ●○○
MoreInuyama Castle during the fall; despite getting attuned to the Japanese rail system and fumbling and finishing my sandwich breakfast in a chilly cold, it was all worth it.Fresh, crisp cool climate surrounded by vibrant colours of autumn leaves- Magical 😊😊 only made even more special by the person next to me 😊😊
MoreGreat castle to visit. It is one of the smaller castle but easy to get to and has a lot of history. The view is awesome from the top.
MoreEntrance fee is 550 yen. Parking is 300 yen per hour. There is a few shrines on the way to the castle. Place consists of inner yard with a park and a souvenir store, and the castle itself. Castle has 6 floors with a very steep ladders between them. There is a few items exhibited inside, like samurai armour or original castle decorations. From the top floor you can enjoy a nice view as castle is the tallest place in this area. This castle is one of the 5 Japanese castles counting as national treasures. Recommend it. Also recommend checking out the Meiji Village which is not far from here.
MoreThe castle is under construction so the 3rd and 4th floor is closed. During this time the entrance is free.
MoreGreat place. One of the few castles that are still in their original form. It is easily accessed by car or bike or public transport. It hosts several festivals throughout the year and is exceptionally lovely in spring, with lots of cherry blossoms, and fall, with lovely maples adorning the grounds.
MoreNice location and the view from the top tower is stunning
Here is how to get there: Get off at Inuyamayuen station then enjoy walking along the river with the nice view. Visit the castle and then walk to Inuyama station and enjoy the shops along the street. The castle is beautiful. There is a small park near the castle, so if you come with children, you can take them to the park as well.
MoreSmall castle in a beautiful location.
Beautifully constructed castle that is one of the last standing wooden castles in Japan in its original form. From the top there are wonderful views of the surrounding area. Not a crowded place and surrounding parks are also nice to walk through. Wear comfy shoes that are easy to take off and put on as there is a no shoe policy inside the castle. Small fee to enter but worthwhile. Toilet and canteen area available.
MoreBeautiful place, with amazing scenery view from the top floor. Explanation pamphlets available in many languages. Kind and helpful staff. Totally worth it!
MoreGreat spot for photo opportunity. You can get inside this one. It has 5 levels, when you climb up the top, the view will take your breath away, it also does the same thing if you kinda afraid of heights. Nice view from the top. You can see the town from level 5, the river and even the boat they use to catch fish with, by it's not happening in winter so the boat will just be parking there. Nice lookout near by and souvenir shop at the front. There are parking lots for visitors with coin operated machine for parking fee.
MoreSuch a beautiful castle!! Worth the visit and admission cost is reasonable. Our English tour guide was so friendly and informative ^_^
MoreWorth having a half day tour
It was under construction. Not many restaurants around. We went there on Mon, on the way to Takayama. It rained shortly after we arrived. Think it was a wrong move. Should have spent more time at Takayama, it has more hand craft stuff, souvenir stores and food choices.
MoreOne of the world heritage castles in Japan, Inuyama Castle. The castle consists of 5 levels, on the 5th level, you can see the panorama around the city. Because of safety reason, they put limit on the number of visitors that can enter at a time. The entrance fee is 550 yen / adult. There are souvenirs shop and small cafe near the entrance.
MoreWorth a visit. Specially inside the castle.
Great for a day out or a date, with a commanding view of the river and some nice shops nearby
MoreVery cool castle, alot of the architecture is untouched and remains same since the Samurai.
MoreComfortable hike to the well preserved historic castle. Nice view up on the castle and there are many things to do around the old city.
MoreBadass castle on a hill overlooking a river. Nice touristy street as well with foods and sweets.
MoreNice visit to a beautiful castle, the oldest in Japan before the Edo period.550 yenes per adult.Outstanding views from the top of the castle, particularly from the rear side.
MoreThe oldest wooden Castle standing,in Japan. National treasure, and a nice excursion to go out for a few hours. Free English guide services available.
MoreGreat history and low cost
Great castle (an original I believe), and nice area to walk around; especially during a festival.
MoreBeautiful original castle with superb views from the top floor. I made the mistake of going during golden week so the queues were awful but it's well worth a visit and easy to get to from Nagoya station.
MoreLove the castle, amazing view from top and you can check inside.
Japan traditional castle with a river, the 360 view from the top of castle is amazing. 🇯🇵
MoreWonderful place to visit. The surrounding area is just fabulous as well.
most sections closed.unable to see the whole of castle.still 1of the 5 castle must visit in Japan
MoreAfter many many visits to Chubu Japan, I have finally visited Inu Yama Castle. Unfortunately it was under partial construction. It was still a beautiful sight anyway. I'm glad to have visited the oldest Japanese castle that wasn't destroyed during WWII.
MoreNice day outing. There is a street with various shops where one can eat little snacks. The best is the guy sushi. This was extremely tasty. Taking time to walk around the castle was a very nice experience.
MoreI enjoyed my short visit. It wasn't crowded before lunch on a Saturday in January.
Moresmall town good for half day tour
The castle has one of the best views of the city! Made up mainly with wood is a must to visit in Japan, since its a very different one from those found in other cities - which are made of rock. The place is well maintained. The attention is great! I mean, Japanese people know how to treat you well wherever you go!!
MoreAwesome castle, well worth the journey to Inuyama.
Beautiful original castle. Very steep climb inside to get to the top floors. Some interesting artifacts on display inside.
